MY HEAD IS SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN

sno

So following the webcomic tradition of making a Valentine's Day card on, well, Valentine's Day, we have brought it over to Less_than_Lonely. I hope you enjoy this little show of passion that graced our website. I was inspired by the Nintendo related cards that VG Cats has and the awesome card found on Beaver and Steve. So enjoy this holiday that is not really a holiday but mostly a day, a good day for those in the greeting card business (which as you see we will soon be entering).

BUT I'M BLIND AS A FOOL CAN BE

sno

Well I figured I would share with you all some quick opinions on the Wii games that I have played up until now.

Zelda: Twilight Princess: The main reason I bought the Wii on launch. It's the expected awesome adventure game. Sure things are very linear (especially compared to my favorite Wind Waker) and Zelda herself is a rather flat character. But the game plays awesome, has a great story, and Midna is probably the best character in a Zelda game I've played.

Wii Sports: a really fun game, good in groups or alone. Simplistic but works in its simplicity. Bowling, golf, and tennis are great in groups and tennis I really enjoy when I just play it by myself.

Red Steel: like many I had high hopes for this game but it is obvious that it was created quickly. The sword fighting I really don't enjoy but there are some fun moments in the shooting sections. There are just too many problems in between those moments.

Wario Ware: Smooth Moves: so I did not play this one much but the game feels rather slow. It has some good uses of the wii-mote, but I felt a lose of the sense of urgency. And Wario Ware was always about multi-player for me, yet this one really seems to be best as a single player game. Probably the best of the mini-game games (besides wii-sports of course).

Raymond Raving Rabbids: while I played this one even less than Wario, I really did not feel much of a draw to go back to it. It is crazy and has some great art, and those rabbids are fun to watch. Yet many of the mini games left me a bit bored. The whole package was not fleshed out enough. And having to read directions all the time was annoying.

Far Cry Vengeance: just spent a few minutes with this but Vengeance has to be the ugliest game I've seen in years. It feels like some strange N64 tech-demo. Apparently the game play is some-what fun though so I will see if that holds true for myself.

It's important to note that I actually only own WiiSports and Zelda. So I didn't play many of those others to a great degree besides Red Steel. Yet I do not really have much a desire to play them much after my attempts. I will give Far Cry a spin soon and see if it holds any water.

So, all in all, what do I use my Wii for these days? Not much. I read some news or play a game a few hours a week. We are in a bit of a slump. Next month there are a few interesting games coming out, although most are just ports of games that have been out in the marketplace. Let us hope they are good, so that this post-new-years slump doesn't drag on.
